YINCHUAN, July 12 -- The 2019 International Marathon of Ningxia Yellow River Bank, which will kick off on September 22 in Wuzhong City of northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, is open for registration on Friday.

According to organizers, around 20,000 participants are expected to compete in three different races: full marathon, half marathon and the 5km mini marathon. Total bonus for winners reaches 300,000 yuan (43,660 U.S. dollars). The highest bonus for the male and the female winner of the full marathon is 40,000 yuan (5,827 U.S. dollars) respectively.

The track starts from the Shengyuan Plaza in the Litong District of the Wuzhong city and goes through the Riverside Avenue. Participants can have a great view of the Yellow River during the course of the race. Participants can also enjoy local food that the city is famous for.

This international marathon is the only one of its kind in Ningxia endowed with the honor of "Golden Race" by Chinese Athletics Association (CAA). It has attracted tens of thousands of participants over the past several years.
