PARIS, Nov. 6 -- Ligue 1's bottom side Guingamp announced on Tuesday that they have parted company with head coach Antoine Kombouare following a series of poor results.
Guingamp said in a statement that Kombouare had left the position following a meeting with club directors. Before a new coach is appointed, the team will be under the temporary charge of academy director Vincent Rautureau and reserve team coach Sylvain Didot.
54-year-old Kombouare, a former player and coach at Paris Saint-Germain, began his coaching stint in Guingamp in 2016, leading the team to mid-table finishes in each of the last two seasons.
However, the team was left rock bottom with just one win and seven points from 12 league matches so far, trailing 2016-17 Ligue 1 champions Monaco on goal difference. They are three points behind Amiens who sit in the relegation play-off place.
Following six straight defeats to start the season, Guingamp then went five games unbeaten and advanced in the French League Cup by seeing off Angers on penalties, but their 5-0 loss at Nantes last Sunday proved to be Kombouare's final game in charge.
