BUDAPEST, May 19 -- Russia and Ukraine were on top of the FINA Artistic Swimming World Series Budapest Open here on Saturday, taking most of the gold and silver medals.
Russia dominated the stage on Saturday morning with two golds, securing scores over 94 points in both the solo and team events.
In the team technical routine, Russia won with 94.6289 points, followed by Ukraine with 92.0168 points and Italy with 88.3951 points.
The solo technical routine presented the same pattern, with the gold being attributed to rising star 17 year-old Varvara Subbotina from Russia with 94.1510 points, followed by Ukrainian Yelyzaveta Yakhno with 91.0814 and the bronze medal went to Linda Cerruti from Italy with 88.5434 points.
Subbotina charmed everyone with her outstanding skills and performance as she clinched her first-ever senior international title.
In the afternoon, two events were also held, the first was the highlight routine, followed by the duet free.
The Highlight routine was won by Ukraine with 93.1333 points, the silver went to Israel with 79.7333 points while the bronze has been won by Slovakia with 75.1000 points.
In the duet free routine, Anastasiya Savchuk and Yelyzaveta Yakhno of Ukraine won with 92.2668 points before silver medalists Linda Cerruti, Constanza Ferro of Italy with 90.5998 points and bronze medal winners Anna-Maria Alexandri, Eirini Alexandri of Austria with 86.0000 points.
