MADRID, Sept. 13 -- Mallorca and Athletic Bilbao drew 0-0 on Friday in La Liga as both sides missed second half penalties.

Japanese international Takefusa Kubo, on loan from Real Madrid, came on as a second half substitute for Mallorca and drew a foul from Yuri Berchiche, but Abdon Prats missed the spot-kick.

In injury time, Athletic Bilbao were also awarded a spot-kick when Abdul Baba was fouled in the area.

Aritz Aduriz stepped up to take the penalty against his former club but Manolo Reina denied it.

Mallorca then had the ball in the Athletic Bilbao net but the goal was ruled out for offside.

The draw means Athletic Bilbao stay second with eight points. Leaders Atletico Madrid, as well as Barcelona and Real Madrid, are in action on Saturday.
