WASHINGTON, Dec. 14 -- Nineteen-year-old Christian Pulisic was voted as the US Soccer Federation's Male Player of the Year on Thursday.
By winning 94 percent of the votes, Pulisic also became the youngest winner of the award. Landon Donovan had been the youngest winner, earning the honor at 21 in 2003.
The US men's soccer team was knocked out from the Russia World Cup qualifiers, but Pulisic was impressive in the competitions, scoring six goals and dishing out four assists in nine games for the national team this year. The midfielder was also involved in 13 of the 17 American goals in games he played.
In his first full season with Bundesliga club Dortmund last season, he also claimed three goals and three assists in 25 matches.
