JAKARTA, Nov. 8 -- Tennis Association of Indonesia has been conducting tennis test events for the 18th Asian Games next year in the country, a senior official at the association said on Wednesday.
The test events kicked off on Tuesday in Bukit Asam stadium of Palembang, the provincial capital of South Sumatra, and will run till Nov. 12, said Susan Soebakti.
A total of 73 players comprising 47 male players and 26 female players are competing in the test events.
A senior official at the Asian Games committee Djoko Pramono said the test events aim at checking the readiness of the committee and facilities for the sport in the Asian Games.
The 18th Asian Games is scheduled to be played in Indonesia's capital and Palembang city from Aug. 18 to Sept. 2 of next year.
