BERLIN, Oct. 28 -- Front-runners Dortmund lost 4-2 to newly promoted Hannover and their top spot in the standings after Bayern Munich overpowered ten-men Leipzig 2-0 at the 10th round in Bundesliga on Saturday.
Hannover shocked ten-men Borussia Dortmund with two second-half goals to inflict the "BVB" the second loss of the season.
Dortmund assumed control from the kick-off and missed the chance to open the scoring in the second minute as Hannover's defender Oliver Sorg cleared the cross from Andrey Yarmolenko before it could find Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in promising position.
Despite Dortmund's early pressure it were the hosts who opened the scoring with 20 minutes played as goalkeeper Roman Buerki felled Felix Klaus inside the box, allowing Hannover's Jonathas to convert the awarded penalty from the spot.
Peter Bosz' men regrouped and responded seven minutes later when Dan-Axel Zagadou slotted home from inside the area after benefitting on a misplaced clearance.
The visitors should have grabbed the lead but Andrey Yarmolenko somehow pulled the ball over the bar from seven meters in the 37th minute. The "Reds" punished Dortmund's wastefulness moments later as Ihlas Bebou completed a fast break to make it 2-1 on the scoreboards.
After the restart, Dortmund increased the pressure and restored parity with seven minutes into the second half after Andrey Yarmolenko volleyed home a rebound from inside the box.
