WASHINGTON, Oct. 23 -- Los Angeles FC (LAFC) coach Bob Bradley was named 2019 MLS Coach of the Year on Wednesday, winning the award for a third time and doing so with a third club.
Bradley previously won the award with the Chicago Fire in 1998 and Chivas USA in 2006. He joins Bruce Arena as the only coach to win it three times.
LAFC joined the MLS only last season, but Bradley guided the 2-year-old franchise to the best regular season in league history this season, notching up 21 wins for 72 points.
"Individual awards are recognition of the team," the 61-year-old Bradley said. "The most important part is that you create an environment where people enjoy what they're doing. Everybody feels a part of it."
"He made every player better. He created a culture of excellence," LAFC president Tom Penn said.
