BERLIN, Dec. 11 -- Amine Harit has signed a contract extension with FC Schalke 04, the Bundesliga outfit confirmed in an official statement on Wednesday.
The 22-year-old attacking midfielder has extended his current contract for another three years, which will see him stay with the Royal Blues until summer 2024.
"Amine is one of many players between the age of 19 and 23 who have great potential and can be the club's sporting future. I am delighted that he wants to be part of this group and continue his development with us," said Schalke head coach David Wagner.
Harit joined Schalke from French outfit Nantes in 2017 and has scored 10 goals in 76 appearances for the Bundesliga side. The midfielder made his debut for Morocco's national team that same year, and played for his country at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
"From the first day, David Wagner explained to me my role in his plans and how I can help the team. This gave me a lot of self-confidence," Harit told the club's official homepage.
Schalke currently sit fourth in the 2019-20 Bundesliga standings, and take on Eintracht Frankfurt in the league's 15th round of matches this Sunday.
