CALGARY, Feb. 16 -- 23-year-old Laurie Blouin and 20-year-old Tiarn Collins welcomed a big day on Sunday.
Both of them added FIS Snowboard Slopestyle World Cup gold into their medal collection for the first time by winning the Calgary version of the event.
As the titleholder of the 2017 world championships, silver medal winner of PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games and multi-time World Cup medalist, Blouin had never won a World Cup event until Sunday's victory.
"It's crazy," Blouin smiled from the finished area, "I'm really stoked to get my first World Cup win here Calgary."
Fighting on home soil, Blouin finished her two runs with an almost-perfect performance which awarded her 79.56 points.
Silje Norendal from Norway got the silver with 75.68 points. The bronze went to Katie Ormerod of Britain.
In men's event, New Zealander Collins received his maiden World cup gold with 80.50 points.
Tobita Ruki from Japan took second place with 79.53 points. Canadian teenager Liam Brearley got the bronze with 76.58 points.
