时间飞逝，转瞬之间半学期就这样稀里糊涂地过去了，同桌也不再理我。又到期中考试了。因为前几次小测试我都拿了高分，这让原本自大的我更加狂妄了，根本没把考试放在心上，自认为一定是高分，结果试卷发下来，我数学只考了81分，连全班30名都排不上号，一向是“语文强人”的我只考了90分，排在20多名。老师叫我去办公室谈话。一进办公室，老师便开口了：“张琛，你怎么了，你以前不是这样的呀，是不是有什么事啊，告诉老师好吗？听了老师的话，我心中一阵惭愧：老师还是信任我的啊。于是，我把半学期的学习情况一五一十地说了出来。老师听了，意味深长地说：“老师送你一句名言，希望你记住它，不要违背它。这句话你应该听说过，就是：‘虚心万事能成，自满十事九空。’你知道它的意思吗？”我点点头，开口说：“只要虚心，什么事都能成功；如果骄傲，什么事也不会成功。”老师满意地点点头。
