CHANGCHUN, April 17 -- Chinese Women's Super League side Changchun Zhuoyue returned home on Friday after a two-month training period in China's southern city of Kunming.
Despite the global COVID-19 pandemic, which has called a halt to the vast majority of competitive sport, the club from China's northeast had been continuing to prepare for the suspended 2020 season.
During the close season, Changchun also welcomed six new players into its squad, namely Si Yu, Chen Yuanmeng, Chen Mengyuan, Huang Wang, Bi Xiaolin and Song Duan.
"These new faces make our club more energetic, as we have 15 players under the age of 22 for the new season," said head coach Liu You.
The club also renewed its contract with Brazilian defender Rafaelle and signed Argentinian striker Florencia Sloedad.
Changchun Zhuoye placed third in the 2019 Chinese Women's Super League, meaning the club has finished in the league's top three for five successive years.
