WASHINGTON, March 31 -- John Wall of the Washington Wizards has been suspended for one game without pay following a scuffle during a game on Wednesday, the NBA website announced on Thursday.
Miami Heat's Juwan Howard and Zydrunas Ilgauskas were also fined for 35,000 and 25,000 US dollars for their roles in the incident.
During Wizards' 107-123 home defeat against Heat on Wednesday, Wall "threw a closed-fist and forearm into the midsection of Ilgauskas" after taking a pair of elbows. Both of the two were ejected right away.
Juwan Howard was hit with a "T" and tossed out for escalation after he came from the Heat's bench to confront with Wizards' JaVale McGee, who tried to separate the two.
The incident occurred with 8:48 remaining in the second quarter of the game at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C.
Wall will serve his suspension on Friday, April 1 when the Wizards host the Cleveland Cavaliers.
