ACCRA, July 20 -- The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has elected six premier league members onto its executive committee, the highest decision-making body of the organization.
Fred Crentsil, Felix Amoah Ansong, Emmanuel Asamoah Owusu-Ansah and Moses Armah were elected during the first round balloting while GFA spokesperson Randy Abbey managed to book his place on the committee only after winning the first run-off polls held at the headquarters here on Wednesday.
The second run-off saw Emmanuel Kyeremeh, chief executive of recently crowned national league champions, Berekum Chelsea, polling nine votes to beat Kudjoe Fianoo, a former administrative manager of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), who had seven votes.
The six will represent the elite league on the committee as 16 delegates cast their votes on Thursday to elect remaining members from the lower divisions onto the body.
The new members, who will hold office for four years, are expected to embark on major reforms aimed at whipping up interest and enthusiasm of the soccer fraternity.
Their mandate will begin immediately after being sworn-in at a congress next month.
