BUDAPEST, July 30 -- Three-time Olympic sprint champion Veronica Campbell-Brown of Jamaica claimed the women's 200-meter event at the Hungarian athletics grand prix in Budapest on Saturday in a personal best time for 2011 of 22.26 seconds.
Campbell-Brown's compatriot Asafa Powell took the men's 100-meter race in 9.86 seconds. He had already clocked 9.90 seconds in the semifinal.
In the discus event, Hungary's Zoltan Kovago threw a world leading result for 2011 of 69.50 meters. Virgilijus Alekna of Lithuania came second with a throw of 66.02 meters while Roland Varga of Croatia claimed third place with 65.95 meters.
Hungary's Krisztian Pars won the hammer throw competition with a throw of 79.37 meters ahead of Markus Esser of Germany in second place (76.85 m) and Nicola Vizzoni who finished third (75.61 m).
In the men's 800 meters Ismail Ahmed Ismail of Sudan won ahead of Spain's Luis Alberto Marco and Hungary's Tamas Kazi.
