LIMA, Aug. 11 -- Everything is ready for the 3rd World Youth Swimming Championships which will be held in Peru next week, the Peruvian Swimming Federation (FDPN) said on Thursday.
More than 600 swimmers from 58 countries and regions will participate in 96 events.
With the support of the Peruvian Sports Institute (IPD), the Olympic swimming pool at Camp of Marte was renovated for the championships.
The renovation includes new ceilings of both the main pool and the practice pool and cost more than one million U.S. dollars.
The first youth worlds was held in Brazil in 2006 and the second in Mexico in 2008.
