ANKARA, Oct. 11 -- China's Huang Guangyuan won the first place in men's Nanquan competition in the 11th World Wushu Championships (WWC) held in Turkish capital Ankara, the WWC organizing committee announced on Tuesday.
Huang recorded the highest mark of 9.79 points among more than 50 competitors, while Chinese Hongkong athlete He Jingde got the second place with 9.71 points and the Korean competitor Lee Seung-kuen got the third place with 9.67 points.
The full mark for Nanquan competition is 10.
"I am kind of harassed by jet lag, but I overcame it under the help of my coach," Huang told Xinhua after the competition.
"Nanquan requires strong explosive force and Huang managed it well through hard practices," said Liu Baoyu, a coach from Chinese Wushu team.
The 22-year-old Huang said that he started to practise Nanquan when he was 12 years old.
Concerning his competitors in the WWC, Huang said they are making rapid progress these years.
