Job Interview Problems
Rod Cornwell (International Director, Thomas International) gives expert video advice on: What do I do if I'm going to be late for my interview?; If I do badly in an interview can I ask for a second chance?; What do I do if I feel a question is too personal? and more...
What do I do if I can't make my interview?
If you have a problem that means you can't make your job interview, for goodness sake, let the interviewer know. Nothing annoys them more than them having to wait around and waste time when people fail to turn up for an interview. It's very rude.
如果不能参加面试怎么办?
如果你有事情不能参加面试,老天爷,让面试官知道。不要让他们白白等待浪费时间。这是很不礼貌的。
What do I do if I'm going to be late for my interview?
If you're going to be late for an interview, don't arrive and say, "Oh, I thought it was half an hour later than it actually was," and try to bluff the job interviewer. That's not the way to do things in a job interview. The best thing you can do if you're running late is, as soon as you possibly can, contact the interviewer and say, "Look, my train's delayed" or, "I'm stuck in traffic," or, "Ever so sorry - I'm going to be late. Is that okay?" And they'll either say, "No, you're running too late, I've got other meetings" or "Yes, that's fine, see you when you get here." But for goodness sake, let them know before the job interview if there's a problem. There's nothing worse than arriving late for a job interview and not telling anybody.
