Polls suggest Barack Obama retains a slim lead there, but Mitt Romneyclaims he has the intensity factor or the enthusiasm of the voters. And at thislate stage it all comes down to turnout, is that will decide who wins thisclosest of elections since 1960.
The authorities in the United States saysome 1.4 million homes and businesses are still without power,a week after a huge storm causedmassive damage on the country's east coast. The authorities in New Jersey say they willallow people displaced by the storm to vote by email amid growing concerns thatsome won't be able to reach polling stations. State officials said the facilitywould also be granted to rescue workers. Experts have warned that email votinghas not been tested on a large scale and could be vulnerable to hacking.
