Mexican swimmer Nuria Diosdado had been stripped of the six gold medals he won at the Central American and Caribbean Games in Mayaguez after he tested positive for banned drugs.
The Central American and Caribbean Sports Organization (ODECABE) announced on Thursday that Diosdado tested positive for clenbuterol, a drug commonly used for breather disorders.
Sprinter Zudikey Rodriguez, who won a silver medal in women's 400m hurdles and bronze in 4x400m relay, has also been stripped of the medals.
Meanwhile, the Mexican Olympic committee (COM) president Felipe Munoz said that Mexico has appealed for the lost medals and asked the ODECABE to test sample B.
Despite losing those medals, Mexico will still keep its first place on the medal standings, followed by Venezuela in second place and Colombia third.
