Defending champions Brazil breezed into the semifinals of the men's volleyball world championship after they crushed Germany 25-17, 25-20, 25-19 on Wednesday.
Brazil, who held off the Czech Republic 3-2 on Monday, scored two wins from as many matches, and has qualified for the semifinals as the top finishers of Pool R.
The South American powerhouse put on what was probably their best match of the tournament, and left Germany no chance with their nearly-perfect attack and defence.
"We played very well, and were technically precise. We observed many videos to study our opponent, so we were prepared to face them," said Brazil captain Giba.
Germany could not play their game, according to their captain Andrae Bjorn.
"Today we did not give our best performance. Brazil played well, dominating the match and not allowing us to get into it, it is difficult to play against an experienced team like Brazil," he said.
In the semifinals, Brazil will play against the top finishers of Pool O, which could be Italy provided they would beat injury-depleted France later on Wednesday.
Giba look forward to the encounter with the hosts.
"Italy have an excellent blocking mechanism and defense. It will be fantastic to play against the home team in this particular venue," he said.
