Cai Xuetong won the third gold medal for China from the women's snowboard halfpipe event on Friday at the 25th World Winter Universiade here.
Xue, the winner of the 2009 world youth championships, won the two-round competition by 26.8 points, ahead of France's Sophie Rodriguez, who had 23.7. Chinese Li Shuang won the bronze by 22.8.
The Chinese men's surfers were much unstable on the snow as none of the three athletes could complete smoothly. Zhang Yiwei finished the fourth as the best.
Japanese Ryo Aono and Kazuumi Fujita finished 1-2 with Jim Ho-Jun of South Korea took the bronze.
France's Candice Didier won the gold medal in the Ladies Figure Skating though she finished fourth in the free skating by 89.68 points. She collected 144.08 in total.
In the women's curling 3-4 placings finals, South Korea beat Japan 8-5. Britain and Russia will fight for the gold medal of the event.
The Czech Republic edged off Britain 3-2 with a one-point score in the final set to take the men's curling bronze. South Korea and Switzerland entered the finals.
