As health care costs have gone up，the biggest problem is that most rural Chinese have no access to medical facilities and health insurance for lack of money. Many families are even plunged into poverty by illness.

　　In order to change the present situation, our country is currently experimenting with the new type of rural cooperative medical care system under which farmers only pay part of the medical fees annually, which is then matched by local and central governments. The trial area of the pilot rural health insurance schemes will be expanded this year to cover over 80 percent of all counties, county-level cities and city districts. We believe the new medical system can partly ease the burden of expensive medical services in rural places and assure the poverty people basic and average medical care.
