　　“It seems appropriate that...”中it为形式主语，that引导主语从句，that仅起连接作用。英语中主语从句后置，而用it作形式主语的常见句型聚焦：

　　It seems that your mother won’t allow you to swim in this river.似乎你妈妈不会让你在这条河里游泳。

　　It is a pity that you can’t go with us to enjoy the concert.

　　你不能跟我们一块儿去欣赏音乐会真是可惜啊。

　　It is reported that the film star will come to our city to publicize her new film.

　　据报道那位电影明星将来我们市宣传她的新电影。

　　4．Doctors have been researching what effect standup and other forms of comedy have on us...医生们一直在研究单口喜剧和其他形式的喜剧对我们有什么样的影响．..

　　句中what引导宾语从句，并在从句中作定语，意为“什么”，what保留了自身的疑问含义。what引导名词性从句用法透视：
