It’s said that Shandong province will cancel the division of liberal art class and science class in senior middle schools since the year of 2017.

Some people are against the cancellation, because they believe that if there is no division, students have to learn too many subjects, which is certain to increase their burden.

But I’m for it. Both liberal art and science, like the wings of a bird as shown in the picture, are worth learning, because they develop our all-round abilities, which is essential in modern society. Besides, we students can also master two different ways of thinking by balancing the two.

Just like the bird in the picture says “I can fly higher with my two wings—liberal art and science”, I believe that we students can develop better with a balance of subjects.
