　　1)not until...did＋主语直到……才……

　　...until... 直到……的时候

　　not...until... 直到……才……

　　①Not until midnight did he go to bed.

　　＝He didn’t go to bed until midnight.

　　＝It wasn’t until midnight that he went to bed.

　　直到半夜(以后)他才上床睡觉。

　　2)在句型“主句＋until/till＋时间状语从句或状语”中，尤其应注意以下几点：

　　(1)主句中动词是非延续性动词，如leave，graduate，break等时，必须用否定形式。

　　(2)主句中动词是延续性动词，肯定、否定形式都可以，但意义完全不同。肯定句表示动作或状态的结束，否定句表示动作或状态的开始。

　　②You are to stay here until/till your mother comes back.

　　你要呆到你妈妈回来。

　　③Until then，I knew nothing at all about it.

　　直到那时，我对那件事还一无所知。

　　④Not until all the fish died in the river did the villagers realize how serious the pollution was.
