　　be confined to...使离不开……

　　confined adj.有限的，狭窄的

　　confinement n．禁闭；监禁；关押

　　美国很快就会采取措施限制冲突。

　　He did not confine himself to the one language.

　　他没把自己局限于这一门语言。

　　特别提醒

　　表示“把……限制在某范围内”，通常要与介词to连用，此时to后若接动词，要用动名词，不用动词原形。His kindness to us is not confined to visiting us.

　　他对我们很友好，这不仅仅体现在他来看我们。

　　用confine的适当形式填空

　　(1)Keep the dog confined in a suitable travelling cage.

　　(2)It is cruel to keep animals in confined spaces.
