ROME, Sept. 30 -- The United States finished off its remarkable run in the FIVB men's World Championship with a bronze medal in Torino, Italy on Sunday.
Led by two-time Olympian Matt Anderson who scored 29 points, the Americans defeated Serbia in the third-place match 23-25, 25-17, 32-30, 25-19.
The medal is the first for the United States in the worlds since 1994 when it also placed third, and also the third world championship medal for the team in history.
