SARAJEVO, May 20 -- Seven hundred runners took part in the first Merkur Ran4lifestyle night race on Friday night, one of a growing number of sporting events taking root in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).
The Merkur Run4lifestyle includes 10km race through the city center of BiH's capital Sarajevo. There were 700 runners from several countries of the region and competing together for the first night race.
The mayor of Sarajevo Abdulah Skaka welcomed the participants and the director of the Merkur BH Insurance Borislav Doder marked the start of the race and handed the prizes to winners.
The men's race was won by Osman Junuzovic (32:31.00) and BiH runner Lucija Kimani wont hte women's category at 40:45.11.
All participants received T-shirt, fluorescent bracelet, refreshments and various sponsorship gifts when passing through the finish line and winners received medals.
