我从小着迷于科幻电影，于是在得到这本书时，便如获至宝、欣喜若狂地读起来。在我漫游了那向往已久的神秘世界后，存于心中的迷团一个个被解开。我不仅对科幻片产生的背景、科幻片的制作及其所产生的社会效应有了深入的了解，还了解到了一个令人吃惊的事实：我国虽有几十万“科幻迷”，但从事科幻影视的却不足十人，年产科幻片还不到一部。总产科幻片12部，有十部还是翻译的。科幻片创作史也极为短暂，从二十世纪七十年代到八十年代初便销声匿迹了。这与西方科幻片制作者数以万计、年产科幻片数十部的现实比起来，真是九牛一毛，让人感到寒酸。因此，我便立志要从事科幻影视业，用我们自己的科幻片来填补那数以万“科幻迷”的脑海，从而展示我国工业、文化的发展。
