　　fairly/rather

　　(1)fairly常用于表示既不好也不坏的一些性质。如：

　　(2)rather在程度上强于fairly，并且常用来表示某种不好的或不适合的性质。如：

　　It’s rather cold(＝ colder than I would like)．天气相当冷。

　　不过英国人也可能把 rather用于他们非常喜欢的东西。如：
