　　The custom for the Chinese people to set off firecrackers to celebrate the Spring Festival dates back to 2000 years ago. It’s a traditional way to say goodbye to the old year and welcome the new. It is said the explosive sound can drive away bad luck and create a joyful atmosphere.

　　However, firecrackers can be very dangerous. They are noisy, which does harm to our health. Children are often hurt when letting off firecrackers. Therefore, special attention should be paid when setting off firecrackers. First, they should be set off in an open area which is some distance away from people. Also, children should not be allowed to set off firecrackers alone, but under the guidance of adults. I hope what I said above might be helpful.
