伊利诺伊大学香槟分校(University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign)的中国访问学者(visiting Chinese scholar)章莹颖失踪40多天了，涉嫌绑架的嫌犯克里斯滕森20日出席第三次庭审(court hearing)。此次庭审持续时间不到五分钟(last not more than five minutes)。嫌犯在被抓后首次开口(break his silence)，当庭表示不认罪(plead not guilty)，等待陪审团的审判(jury trial)。审判日期(trial date)已定在9月12日。

检方法律援助团队的律师王志东称对此结果并不意外，案件进入了另一个阶段(the case enters into another stage)。现年26岁的章莹颖于6月9日最后一次露面(be last seen on June 9)，有人看到她坐进了克里斯滕森驾驶的黑色土星牌阿斯特拉轿车。美国联邦调查局官员称，自那以后章莹颖再未露面，推断其已身亡(be presumed dead)。美国联邦大陪审团于本月12日正式以绑架罪起诉克里斯滕森(officially charge Christensen with kidnapping)。罪名一旦成立，罪犯将面临最高终身监禁(life in prison)的刑罚。
