Churchill picked up the term “black dog”, a commonplace description by Victorian nannies for out-of-sorts children, from his childhood nurse, Mrs. Everest.
另一说,是因为罹患躁郁症(manic-depression)的英国诗人、散文家塞缪尔·约翰逊:
Churchill knew it and named it his “black dog”, following Samuel Johnson (who, like many great men, suffered from the great disease of manic-depression).
