Disciplining is an onerous task which teachers have to do and, if not done, more of the same bad actions will be committed that disrupt the objectives of teaching and learning, and character building for the later part of life and in society, which the teacher and educator has the responsibility to uphold.

惩戒学生是一项艰巨的任务，但教师不得不这么做，如果不加以惩戒，学生会做出更多这种坏行为来破坏教育和学习的目的，学生在此过程中也会形成糟糕的品格，不利于后期的生活和社会发展，而教师和教育者在教书的同时也要育人。

It is parents' responsibility to discipline the students, not teachers, because the teachers are not paid to discipline children, but to guide their learning. If necessary, teachers should manage the situation in a way that is effective, but does not replace the parents.

Discipline is necessary to educate a child. Although there are some errant teachers who go too far in disciplining a child, that does not mean there should be no discipline. There must be clear rules on what is offensive and what the punishment will be. This can be worked out by meeting with the parents. If possible, arrange for the punishment to be carried out together with the parents present. The idea behind all these is to ensure that everything is carried out aboveboard and parents will approve.
