我国完成首次“地理国情普查”

4月24日，我国首次对外发布地理国情普查公报。公报由国家测绘地理信息局、国土资源部、国家统计局和普查办联合发布。

China boasts a total of 7.56 million square kilometers of vegetation cover, while buildings cover 153,000 square kilometers of land, the State Council Information Office unveiled at a press briefing on Monday.

国务院信息办公室24日在资讯发布会上表示，全国植被覆盖面积为756万平方公里，房屋建筑占地15.3万平方公里。

The numbers are part of the 770-terabyte results of China's first national geoinformation survey, which collects basic information about the country's natural resources, such as their location, range and area.

这些数字是我国首次地理国情普查总计770TB的数据结果的一部分，此次普查收集了我国自然资源的位置、范围、面积等基本信息。

此次全国地理国情普查（national geoinformation survey）查清了我国自然、人文地理要素的现状及空间分布情况。一方面囊括了我国地表自然资源要素基本情况，包括耕地（cultivated lands）、林地（forests）、草地（grasslands）、湖泊（lakes）、荒漠和裸露地表（deserts and bare lands）、冰川（glacier）等的位置、范围、面积等信息；另一方面也查清了与人类活动相关的交通网络（traffic network）、居民地与设施（residential land and facilities）、地理单元（geographical unit）等人文地理要素基本情况，掌握其类别和位置。
