First Lady Michelle Obama said the U.S. is ready to have a female president but said she isn't the one and was quiet when asked whether she thinks former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will win the presidency in 2016.
'She hasn't announced anything, so I'm certainly not going to get ahead of her,' Mrs. Obama said in an interview with Parade magazine. She said who will be the first female president depends on 'who's the best person out there.'
Intense speculation about 2016 has already begun, and Mrs. Clinton is considered a top contender and her supporters are already raising money should she enter the race. Speculation about her chances was fueled in part by a lunch she had last month with President Barack Obama and a separate breakfast with Vice President Joe Biden.
