According to a 2007 interview, even when Hefner wines and dines his female companions at restaurants, he will eat food prepared at home.

Hefner has 12 full-time chefs at his disposal, and orders from a set menu of 31 options.

He's a Midwestern gentleman, so he enjoys those kinds of foods. He has two piles of mashed potatoes with a poached egg placed in each one. Pretty wild stuff but it's OK."
