刀杆节

僳僳族农历二月八日的刀杆节，相传是纪念一位对僳僳族施以重恩的古代汉族英雄。僳僳族人民把这位英雄献身的忌日定为自己民族的传统节日，并用上刀山、下火海等象征仪式，表达愿赴汤蹈火相报的感情。刀杆节这天，几名健壮男子先表演“蹈火”仪式。他们赤裸双脚，跳到烧红的火炭堆里，表演各种绝技。第二天，他们把磨快的36把长刀，刀口向上分别用藤条横绑在两根20多米高的木架上，成一刀梯。表演者空手赤足，从快刀刃口攀上顶端，并在杆顶表演各种高难动作。如今，这项惊险的传统祭奠仪式，已演变为僳僳族好汉表演绝技的体育活动。

It is said that the sabre pole Festival on February 8 of the lunar calendar of the Susu people commemorates an ancient hero of the Han nationality who bestowed great kindness on the Susu people.
