The source of this sudden attention is E!’s “I Am Cait, in which Ms. Cayne, 44, has emergedas the unlikely confidante of Ms. Jenner, accompanying her on trips to San Francisco to meetwith gay and transgender activists and escorting her to the ESPY Awards in New York.

Indeed, a recentteaser posted by E! is called “Caitlyn Jenner Gets Asked Out on a Date, although the actualclip just shows Ms. Jenner going to Ms. Cayne’s house for a glass of wine.
