雅思听力是以英音为主的国际语音,口音有异,但最基本的物质外壳是语音语调,如果学生语音知识不充足,辨音能力就会很差,影响听力理解。
读音不正确或根本不会读。
辨别不出单词中相似或相近的因素。例如 /f//v/, /s//z/, /e//?/等。
不熟悉强读和弱读。例如,and 强读为/?nd/,但常常弱读为/?nd/, /?n/或/n/.in and out /`in ?nd `aut/, black and white /`bl?k ?n `wait/, bread and butter /`bred n `bQt?/
不适应连读。例如 think of it /`iNk?vit/, put it on /`puti`tRn/, first of all /`f?:st?`vR:l/
单词或句子重音分不清。因为有时重音位置不同意思也不同,或者是词性不同、强调的不同、语气的不同等。如content一词,读/`kRntent/是名词内容,读/k?n`tent/是形容词满足的和动词满足,满意。pe`culiarpeculi`arity, perfect /`p?:fikt/perfect /p?`fekt/

不熟悉同化和简化。例如同化Did you like it? /`didVu `laik it/, Im glad to meet you /aim `gl?d tE `mi:tFu/.简化 youre /jC:r/, dont /dEunt/, were /wiE/.
不熟悉英音与美音的区别。例如class英音为/kla:s/,美音为/kl?s/;news英音为/nju:z/,美音为/nu:z/.有时英音与美音重音不同。如detail, 英音为`detail,美音为de`tail.address, 英音为a`ddress,美音为`address.
