甘肃决定于4月23日至5月6日期间，向兰州和武威市场投放140万公斤省级储备冻猪肉(provincial frozen pork reserve)。陕西决定自4月23日起向西安投放省级储备冷冻猪肉50万公斤、市级储备冷冻猪肉30万公斤。5月5日至7月16日期间，北京市将以低价每天向121家大超市投放5万公斤储备冻猪肉(50,000 kg of frozen pork reserve will be sold cheaply to 121 major supermarkets on a daily basis)。为鼓励商贩降价，北京市政府还将对售出的储备冻猪肉给予高达9元/公斤的补贴(the Beijing municipal government will also provide subsidies of up to RMB9 per kg of the pork sold to encourage vendors to decrease prices)，并向屠宰场(slaughterhouse)提供补贴以增加猪肉供给。

对于未来猪肉价格走势，中国社科院农村发展研究所(Rural Development Institute of Chinese Academy of Social Science)研究员李国祥表示，预计未来猪肉价格仍会保持上涨(pork prices are expected to keep rising in the future)，但随着猪肉产量逐渐增加，同时部分消费需求遭到高价的抑制(certain consumer's demands will be suppressed by high prices)，猪肉价格涨幅会逐渐缩小(price-rise of pork will gradually narrow)。
