植物的导管内壁在一定的部位会特别增厚,成各种纹理,有的呈环状,有的呈梯形,有的呈网形。而藕的导管壁增厚部却连续成螺旋状的,特称螺旋形导管。在折断藕时,导管内壁增厚的螺旋部脱离,成为螺旋状的细丝,直径仅为3~5微米。这些细丝很像被拉长后的弹簧,在弹性限度内不会被拉断,一般可拉长至10厘米左右。
