FBI expands World Cup probe

The FBI is investigating how Russia and Qatar wereawarded the 2018 and 2022 World Cup tournamentsas part of its expanding probe into corruption atFIFA, people with knowledge of the investigationsaid.

知情人士透露，美国联邦调查局(FBI)正在调查俄罗斯和卡塔尔被授予2018年和2022年世界杯主办权的过程。此举是该局全面调查国际足联腐败问题的一部分。

 

 

The probe is likely to intensify doubts over whether the two countries should host thecompetition.

In a separate report, former FIFA executive Chuck Blazer admitted in 2013 to accepting bribesrelated to South Africa's 2010 World Cup bid, according to court filings released Wednesday.
