KIEV, July 26 -- Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said on Wednesday that Kiev supports the U.S. House of Representatives' decision to back a draft bill on new sanctions against Russia.
In a statement on Facebook, Poroshenko described the move as an "important decision" for Ukraine.
Meanwhile, some Ukrainian experts suggested that the possible sanctions may bring uncertainties to the European and global trade, affecting Ukraine.
On Tuesday, the U.S. House of Representatives overwhelmingly approved the bill that would lead to stricter economic sanctions against Russia, Iran and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
The bill reportedly allows sanctions against Russia for its alleged role in Ukraine's crisis and the U.S. presidential election, the claims that Moscow has repeatedly denied.
The Kremlin had said earlier that they viewed the sanctions bill "negatively," warning that fresh restrictions would adversely affect both Russia and the U.S.
To come into effect, the legislation on sanctions has to pass the Senate and be signed by U.S. President Donald Trump.
